Every March, we celebrate Women’s History Month. It continues to be a dedicated moment to reflect, learn, and celebrate communities of Women across the world, and locally here at Marqeta.
Over 155 Marqetans participated in a variety of events, each contributing to the empowerment and celebration of women:
Celebrate IWD with our Meditation & Stress Management session - Our month kicked off with a moment of tranquility and self-reflection. Led by seasoned practitioners, this session provided attendees with tools to navigate stress and prioritize mental well-being.
Self Advocacy Workshop - Empowerment often begins with self-awareness and assertiveness. This workshop was a pivotal opportunity for participants to hone their communication skills, learn effective negotiation techniques, and champion their own professional growth. Those who attended left with newfound confidence and actionable strategies to advocate for themselves and their ambitions.
Fireside Chat w/ Daniela Mielke - Our community had the privilege of engaging in an enlightening fireside chat with Daniela Mielke. Through candid conversation and shared experiences, Daniela offered insights into leadership, resilience, and the importance of fostering inclusive environments. Attendees were inspired to embrace their unique strengths and embrace leadership opportunities.

But our celebration didn't stop there. Throughout the month, Marqeta hosted a myriad of events aimed at uplifting and honoring women:
DJ Afrodisiac 45 min WHM set - We grooved and celebrated with a special DJ set from DJ Afrodisiac, a talented member of our community. The beats were infectious, and the energy was electric as we came together to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women.
WHM Social Hour via Natter - In the spirit of community and connection, Marqetans gathered for a virtual social hour via Natter. It was a time to unwind, share stories, and forge new connections in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Volunteer Event with NPower for WHM - We gave back to the community by participating in a volunteer event hosted by NPower. Together, we shared our wisdom and support with the next generation of tech professionals, empowering them to pursue their dreams and make a difference in the world.

Our company also came together to create a list of our favorite women-owned businesses and would like to share that here.
As we reflect on Women's History Month 2024 at Marqeta, we are filled with gratitude for the meaningful connections, empowering conversations, and moments of celebration that defined this special month. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this month a success. Here's to the continued empowerment and celebration of women, not just in March, but every day of the year.
