It’s an honor to introduce our two newest board members, Amy Chang and Gerri Elliott. Amy is an accomplished technology executive, advisor, and board member to more than a dozen companies, and Gerri is Cisco’s chief sales and marketing officer. They each bring deep expertise to our board as we continue our mission to build world-class technologies for the global market.
Amy’s extensive experience includes serving on the boards of Procter & Gamble, SambaNova, and Pragma as well as an advisor for more than a dozen companies, including ID.me, HubSpot, and Optimizely. She founded the relationship intelligence platform Accompany, which was acquired by Cisco, where Chang went on to serve as executive vice president/general manager of its 6,000 person Collaborations team. She then spent seven years at Google working on its Analytics, Website Optimizer, Trends, and multichannel attribution products. Amy’s impressive resume is rounded out with her work at eBay, McKinsey, Intel, and Motorola.
“I believe Marqeta’s modern card issuing platform can redefine what is possible in today’s digital economy and sits at a cross-section of the accelerating shift to digital payments, the convergence of software and payments, and the rise of a new wave of developer-led companies laser-focused on user experience,” said Amy Chang. “It was immediately clear to me just what Jason has built at Marqeta and the potential it has to capture a significant opportunity and I’m delighted to join its board.”
We’re thrilled to have not one but two new female board members join us. Gerri Elliott is currently leading Cisco’s global sales organization, go-to-market, and customer care strategies. She started her career at IBM, spending almost 22 years in key executive and management roles. Gerri has also served as Microsoft’s corporate vice president, where she oversaw sales and marketing teams servicing government, education, and health care customers across more than 100 countries.
“I have three criteria when I’m considering joining a Board: market opportunity, proven leadership, and operational efficiency. Marqeta checks the box on all three,” said Gerri Elliott. “I believe there is clearly a significant, global shift towards digital payments and I’m excited to partner with Jason and his great team to help Marqeta seize this exciting opportunity.”
We’re fortunate to welcome both Amy and Gerri to Marqeta and know that their insight and perspective will be invaluable to us as we grow and scale.
