As Marqeta’s Lead Onboarding Project Manager for Credit Products, you will be a vital part of our mission to change the way money moves. You'll work within our GTM team, which comprises four critical functions: Revenue, Strategy & Operations, Customer Solutions & Delivery, and Partnerships. In this role, you'll be responsible for educating, motivating, and launching our customers on Marqeta’s Credit platform.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States or from our Oakland, CA office. We’d love for you to join us!

The Impact You’ll Have

  • Lead cross-functional teams consisting of customers, internal departments (e.g., Product, Engineering, Compliance), and external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, banks) to ensure successful onboarding project execution. Inspire team collaboration and serve as the key liaison throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze customer needs and integration requirements to develop strategic project plans. Communicate project goals, progress, and any roadblocks clearly and effectively to both internal stakeholders and customer leadership teams. Provide detailed updates, reports, and post-implementation analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilize project management tools and methodologies to oversee multiple, complex projects simultaneously. Create, track, and optimize workflows to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within scope, while managing resources efficiently.
  • Proactively seek solutions to complex problems, showing initiative in improving processes and delivering innovative project strategies. Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and product updates to effectively guide customers through the onboarding process.
  • Communicate effectively in a regulated and technical environment, partnering with revenue leads on customer needs.
  • Navigate through uncertain or evolving project conditions, maintaining focus, composure, and performance under tight deadlines and shifting priorities. Manage ambiguous and changing business environments and customer expectations with agility and confidence.
  • Develop our onboarding assets and SOPs for our various credit offerings

Who You Are

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience and PMI certification.
  • Background in payments or financial services with a expert knowledge on credit products or lending
  • Proven ability to lead and influence without direct authority, driving successful outcomes through collaboration, clear communication, and a positive attitude.
  • Able to translate complex business requirements into actionable project plans, using data and customer feedback to inform decisions. You are highly skilled in anticipating challenges, changing priorities, and strategizing solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excels at identifying risks  and unusual circumstances and mitigating them before they impact project success. You are skilled at navigating escalations, ensuring quick and effective resolutions while maintaining customer trust.
  • Complete knowledge and full understanding of project management principles and practices within a professional discipline.
  • Significant track record in customer-facing project delivery/management roles.
  • Superior organizational skills with a proven ability to manage complex projects.
  • At ease with technology, product, legal, and B2B technology applications.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of projects with minimal guidance and direction and designing a process and procedure to support future projects. 
  • Comfortable working on projects with limited defined processes, and able to adapt to changing priorities and challenges

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience with implementation projects for mid-market and enterprise clients
  • Familiarity with Smartsheets, Jira, Salesforce, and other collaboration tools
  • Experience supporting Revenue-facing teams in a POD sales structure

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:

  • National: $101,625 - $135,500
  • Premium: $114,375 - $152,500
  • Premium Plus: $127,050 - $169,400
